Mario Gomez (the striker for Bayern Munich) revealed that he found out about a bid from Chelsea. He did not have any idea that the Blues wanted him before deciding on Fernando Torres.
The revelations were made in an interview with the magazine "Sport Bild". In the interview, he received news about the offer after Bayern Munich rejected Chelsea's offer.
Bayern Munich did not want to part with Gomez since they need him. The reason is the knee injury that Ivica Olic received earlier in the Bundesliga season.
Liverpool also wanted Mario Gomez in their team before deciding on Andy Carroll and Luiz Suarez.
